Sam Heughan is set to release a new book this autumn. Published by Quadrille, The Cocktail Diaries by Sam Heughan will showcase some of the actor’s favourite drinks from his adventures across the world.
Sam Heughan, the acclaimed actor, best selling author and co-founder of Sassenach
spirits, often shares his love of cocktails on his social media, and now fans can recreate these at home.
Heughan has enjoyed a successful career in theatre, television and film spanning two decades.
He is best known for his starring role in the hit TV show Outlander and as co-author of three books in the Clanlands series (New York Times and The Sunday Times bestsellers).
Sam’s memoir, Waypoints, documents his career in acting whilst hiking 100 miles along the West Highland Way in Scotland; it was also a New York Times and The Sunday Times bestseller.
Sam is the founder and co-creator of Sassenach Spirits, whose whisky, wild Scottish gin and tequila have won numerous awards globally.
The Cocktail Diaries includes chapters on Sam’s Top 10 all-time favourites, ‘Simple and Timeless’ recipes for those easy crowd-pleasers, ‘Complex and Conversational’ for something a bit more sophisticated, and a final section, ‘Made by Friends’, featuring imaginative recipes created by international bartenders for Sam and his brand Sassenach Spirits – a tailormade tour of the world’s best cocktails.
Sam’s expertise and enthusiasm shine through, as he regales tales of tasting cocktails – from the historic Boulevardier in Paris and a Frisco on the Las Vegas Strip to a Papaya Margarita in the back of a van in the Oaxaca mountains – and delights in sharing his favourite adventures (and drinks) with the reader.
