For a chef looking for the top job - and a relocation to a beautiful Scottish island - this may be a dream role.
The Three Chimneys on Skye are looking for a head chef to take over the kitchen, as the current head chef, Scott Davies, is leaving to be nearer family on the mainland. He will stay with the company in a consultative role.
The restaurant, which has been named one of the world’s best dining destinations, won countless accolades and has even welcomed Nigella Lawson through its doors, has only had three head chefs, with Davies taking on the role in 2015.
The successful candidate will design inventive menus and manage the day-to-day running of the restaurant, working with local producers to showcase Skye’s bountiful larder, but they will also have the opportunity to manage The Three Chimneys’ new pop-up dining site at the Talisker distillery.
In addition to a generous salary, they will receive a house with low rent on the beautiful Isle of Skye.
The five-star AA restaurant, which is included in the Michelin Guide for Great Britain and Ireland 2024, is advertising for an “ambitious, talented and exacting chef” who has already established themselves and is now ready to make their mark at one of Scotland’s most iconic restaurants.
“I am looking for someone dynamic and innovative who has the drive and vision to ensure that The Three Chimneys continues to win accolades and a loyal following of guests around the world,” said Brett Davidge, managing director of The Wee Hotel Company who own the Three Chimneys.
The Three Chimneys opened its doors as a restaurant on the Isle of Skye in 1985 with a simple intention: to celebrate Scotland’s larder through fresh, seasonal and inventive cooking.
Since then, it has remained at the forefront of Scotland’s culinary scene, placing Skye firmly on the map as one of the country’s finest dining destinations and earning global renown for its cuisine – The Wall Street Journal even named it one of five restaurants in the world worth travelling for.
