Bottles were collected from all 56 of the distilleries that bottle their own products, and the entire collection is will be main prize for one lucky, with the draw taking place on Friday 2 June.

It took Blair and a team of support crew a total of seventeen hours to visit 60 distilleries, beginning at sunrise at the Balblair distillery in Ross-shire and ending at sunset at the Aberfeldy distillery in Perthshire.

“It’s was an incredible event,” said Blair. “As far as we are aware, no-one has even attempted to set a record like this before and, despite meticulous planning, there was always a risk that we might not get to all 60 of the distilleries on the day.

"We couldn’t afford for a single thing to go wrong.

"It just needed a few tractors or caravans to hold us up and we would have been under pressure.”

Malcolm Triggs, one of the organisers of World Whisky Day and a member of Blair’s support crew for the Challenge, said: “Seeing this collection of whisky build up over the course of the day was incredible, but knowing that one person is going to win the whole lot is even more so.

"It really is an amazing prize, with all of the proceeds going to a thoroughly deserving and fitting cause.”

• Please note, the whisky can only be delivered to an address in the UK, and all entrants must be 18 or over.
