Limited edition Edinburgh Castle 'defender of the nation' whisky launched

Only 232 bottles of this 18 year old limited edition Speyside whisky are available.

A limited edition 18 year old whisky celebrating the mighty fortress of Edinburgh Castle is now available to buy.

The Defender of the Nation has been distilled at the Tamdhu Distillery in Speyside. The whisky matured for 17 years inside refill oak casks, before spending a final year resting in a 1st fill, medium char European oak Oloroso sherry hogshead, seasoned for 24 months.

With a run of only 232 bottles, the single malt Scotch whisky has a delicate nose of golden syrup and soft vanilla, gently unfolding into deeper layers of rich sherry soaked oak. These notes harmonise with the warmth of its long maturation, culminating in a smooth, lingering finish that carries both sweetness and subtle spice.
