Babu Bombay Street Kitchen, which started as a street food stall and moved to permanent premises on West Regent Street in 2013, is set to close for good at the end of this month.
The restaurant, which specialises in Bombay street food, including home style curries, roti and chai, announced the shock closure on their Facebook page saying: "It's the end of an era...Babu's West Regent st shop will sadly be closing its doors at the end of the month."
Fans of Babu's won't have to miss out for long as the restaurant is going back to its roots and will continue with stalls at various food markets such as Platform, the Big Feed and Dockyard Social in Glasgow and Edinburgh's Stockbridge Market.
Dozens of customers took to social media to express their sadness at the closure, and love of the restaurant's food with Chris Flyn saying: "Have had some of the best meals on my life here, sad times. Good luck for the future."
Jenn May added: "terribly sad to hear this 🙁😢😭 but best of luck with future plans."
