Three Scottish restaurants added to the Michelin Guide - including 'charming' Indian eatery

The Michelin inspectors have revealed which restaurants have made it into the 2025 Guide for the UK and Ireland this month.

The Michelin Guide for the UK and Ireland has some new additions, and three are Scottish restaurants.

Every month the inspectors reveal the restaurants that have caught their attention and are worthy of inclusion in the Michelin Guide.

While new stars and bib gourmands were revealed in Glasgow in February (and 2026 additions will be unveiled in Dublin early next year), the inspectors are on the road all year round, eating their way around some of the country’s best restaurants.

Three restaurants in Scotland have been included in the November roundup. These are: Angeethi by Sagar Massey in Cardonald; LOMA by Graeme Cheevers at Cameron House Hotel in Balloch and The Clarence in Glasgow.

The Michelin inspectors called Angeethi by Sagar Massey a “charmingly run” restaurant, which is located on Paisley Road West in Glasgow.

They wrote: “An angeethi is a type of grill traditionally used in rural Indian households, and now it lends its name to this charmingly run restaurant in a Glasgow suburb.

“It’s a simple-looking place where the focus is on the joyously flavoursome food and the warm, caring service. Massey’s menu sticks to traditional, regional Indian dishes which are both well-spiced and generous, such as the ‘Old Delhi Murgh Makhani’, a fabulous version of the classic butter chicken.

“Ensure you leave some room for dessert, as the ‘Rabdi Faluda’ provides a beautiful balance of flavours.”

LOMA by Graeme Cheevers is the second restaurant from the celebrated chef, who gained a Michelin Star for Unalome by Graeme Cheevers restaurant in 2022.

It is located within the five star Cameron House Hotel on the banks of Loch Lomond, and the inspectors called it a “welcoming eatery”.

The listing reads: “Cameron House, perched on the shores of Loch Lomond, will always provide picturesque surroundings for a restaurant.

“Experienced chef Graeme Cheevers is the one currently taking advantage of the natural beauty, with this welcoming eatery decked out with a touch of glitz thanks to marble furnishings and mirrored panels on the ceiling.

“Cheevers’ ethos of well-sourced ingredients is on display, as are plenty of contrasting flavours and inspiration drawn from various Asian cuisines – such as squab pigeon with an umeboshi-flavoured jus.”

The final Scottish restaurant included in the Michelin Guide is The Clarence. A neighbourhood bistro, it took over the site of Shucks, a high end seafood restaurant which had also been Michelin recommended before it closed in early 2025.

The Clarence is run by the team behind Michelin Starred Cail Bruich, and the inspectors commented on the “top quality ingredients”, saying: “The team from Cail Bruich are behind this likeable neighbourhood spot decked out with cool modern décor and boasting a large bar – start with the well-priced house negroni or something creative from the extensive cocktail list.

'Legendary' BBQ festival to return to Scotland this summer

“The cooking is led by the top-quality ingredients, be they seasonal girolles or super-fresh Loch Fyne mackerel, and the charcoal grill plays a key role in proceedings too.

“The best value comes via the set menu or sharing dishes from the à la carte. Knowledgeable and attentive service adds to the appeal.”
