Scottish chef that showcases ‘amazing’ food to make Amazon Prime TV debut

A north east chef is set to star in a new Amazon TV programme.

Chef Graham Mitchell, who owns restaurant Tarragon by Graham Mitchell in Aberdeen, is set to co-host a new TV programme that’s showcasing north east food and drink on Amazon Prime.

The Doric Kitchen will be coming to the streaming service soon, as filming has been taking place throughout this year.

The team have been posting about filming, and on location, since early spring and have since confirmed what their plans are via social media.

The post reads: “An afa lot o new followers ower the last few days. So fits the scoop…well…

We hink the northeast of Scotland disna get the showing it deserves, for its stunnin views its landscape and especially its produce and food! 

“So here at the Doric Kitchen we aim to remedy this wee the northeast’s first ever streamable show all aboot our little area and best yet it will be in Doric (mixed but with subtitles) and nae only show off our beautiful bit o the world but do it we a pinch o humour. 

“And better yet. We are going to be on Amazon. One of the biggest streaming services in the world. Meaning our show winna just be seen here in Scotland but in the US, Canada and Australia. 

“So that’s fits coming. And we appreciate every single like, follow, share and comment cause ats how we grow on here before the shows release. So tag yer expats, share wee yer foodie buddies. It’s time for the northeast and its food scene ti shine.”

Chef Graham Mitchell posted on social media about it, writing: “Follow "The Doric Kitchen" on Facebook! 

“That’s studio day on the pilot of the Doric Kitchen done and dusted. Great team of people working on this project and having Colin Hendry as our first guest was amazing (he’s fond of the mince n tatties as well) our executive producer and original concept man Brian and his loving wife Kathy made a surprise visit all the way from America and it was ace to have them in studio as well!

Filming has taken place across the north east of Scotland including at the Taste of Garioch food festival this month. 

Viewers can expect six episodes featuring local suppliers, amazing places to eat and funny stories as well as classic and modern Scottish dishes
