Scottish Kitchen is the new cookbook from multi-award-winning chef Gary Maclean.
Serving up a collection of recipes celebrating Scotland’s best cuisines and traditions, Scottish Kitchen travels through history to the present day.
From the 1930s delicacy of the Glasgow Macaroon to the rich fruitiness of the classic sixteenth-century Dundee Cake, there are over 100 recipes alongside stunning photography that will inspire readers to utilise Scotland’s sought-after produce and create distinctive dishes.
The easy-to-follow recipes include a twist on comfort-food favourites like mince and tatties and something fresher, such as Gary's venison salad.
With Gary’s flair for flavour and hands-on approach, this collection takes traditional recipes and remodels them for everyone to enjoy.
Born in Glasgow, Gary Maclean is the first National Chef of Scotland, a role which promotes food health, education and Scotland’s larder.
Crowned champion of BBC series MasterChef: The Professionals in 2016, he is also Executive Chef at City of Glasgow College and a Fellow of the Master Chefs of Great Britain.
Following on the success of Kitchen Essentials, Scottish Kitchen is his second book.
Scottish Kitchen will be out on 28 April and is published by Black and White Publishing.
