Launching in stores from the 26 May, the Scottish gin festival features a range of twelve spirits, including four expertly mixed, ready-to-drink cans, that offer gin lovers floral and fruit drinks that are ideal for warmer weather.
Distillers from across Scotland have been selected, with those on the picturesque Hebridean island of Tiree offering up one of the festival’s most far flung gins.
Tyree Gin (40% ABV) includes wild flowers such as eyebright, ladies bedstraw and water mint among its botanicals; all of which are all sustainably sourced from the fertile machair along the island’s coastline.
Meanwhile, just across the water, Isle of Islay Gin also takes inspiration from sunny local blooms with its deliciously different Nerabus Gorse Gin (40% ABV).
Sweet and light, this island spirit is best enjoyed with a Mediterranean Tonic and a slice of fresh lemon, or even neat with a block of ice.
For those looking to try something a little closer to home, it's the Scottish raspberry that takes centre stage in several seasonal gins from festival favourites Red Door Distillery and House of Elrick.
Distilled in small batches at an idyllic historic house in Aberdeenshire, House of Elrick’s Rhubarb & Raspberry Gin (40% ABV) is a must-try for fans of fresh and fruity gins.
Carefully crafted in the distillery’s copper pot still ‘Peggy’ in a converted barn in Forres, Red Door’s Summer Edition (45% ABV) gives a hint of things to come with a rose and raspberry-infused gin that’s crisp, dry and packed with floral flavour - perfect for enjoying al fresco as the evenings get longer.
Available across all Lidl Scottish stores while stocks last, the Scottish Gin Festival kicks off on 26th May.
