Say goodbye to multi-coloured croissants, floral coffees and unicorn bagels; here’s your opportunity to unleash your inner goth with summer's latest food trend; black ice cream.

The Malmaison hotel chain has introduced a black coconut ice-cream for a limited time only, alongside a brand new Pina Colada flavour.

The unusual colour comes from vegetable ash which creates activated charcoal, and is then mixed with yummy coconut cream, topped with chocolate popping candy and served in a coconut shell.

It tastes as interesting as it looks, with a super-rich and unique flavour.

If you’re looking for something more traditionally tropical, try the Pina Colada ice cream. Infused with white rum, topped with freeze dried raspberries and glace cherries, and served in a baby pineapple, it ticks every nostalgic box.

Both limited edition ice creams cost £5.50 and will be available across Malmaison’s 15 hotels, including Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen, to take away or eat in from the 10th July.

Delicious, and oh so Instagram worthy. Do you fancy a scoop of something different?
