Chef Nico Simeone is set to add to his portfolio of Six by Nico restaurants as planning permission has been granted to open another one - and it has a rooftop bar.

The latest Six by Nico restaurant, which will feature a rooftop bar, will be located within the former Fopp store at 358-360 Byres Road in Glasgow's west end.

Glasgow City Council granted permission to turn the former music shop and Italian restaurant Santa Lucia - which is situated in the top floor of the building - earlier this month.

The plans show drawings of how the new restaurant and rooftop bar will look, with the successful application detailing an extension to the rear of the building and outdoor seating on the street that will seat 20.

Inside and downstairs there's room for 78 covers while the rooftop has a range of seating and covered areas meaning it can be used throughout the year.

It is described on the plans as "an asset for the thriving leisure / social scene of the local cosmopolitan community".

A nearby popular roof terrace at The Chip restaurant is cited in the plans as demonstrating "a demand for this type of facility in the neighbourhood."

The planning application for the new Six by Nico state the intention for the site, saying: "The intention for the site is to create one ownership with three facilities within. Including - Fine dining restaurant, bar and roof top bar with dining.

"The roof top bar will be screened with glass and aluminium construction to act as acoustic barriers, the open area is also to be set back from the Byres Road elevation to reduce the risk of noise leakage affecting the flats opposite.

"The roof area will have small trees and planting to the rear and to the front with a green roof included to create a mini habitat for birds and insects and provide a pleasant vista for the flats opposite and from the bathing club / gyms to the rear."
