Monachyle Mhor has announced a series of food and drink events this autumn, from Champagne tastings to a wine and whisky safari.

On Sunday 24 October, in partnership with long-time collaborators Liberty Wines, Monachyle Mhor will host a brand new, exclusive Champagne experience featuring wine and food alongside a wander along Balquihidder Glen, discovering what's available to forage.

Mhor & Liberty Wines recently launched two new Charles Heidsieck Champagnes in Scotland for the first time.

On Sunday 30 October the annual Mhor Wine and Whisky Safari will take place.

Starting at Mhor 84 at 9.30am, guests will be welcomed by owner and chef Tom Lewis, who will whet appetites with a little something from the kitchen before leading the six mile walk to Monachyle Mhor, with a little local history, foraging and refreshment stops thrown in for good measure.

For lunch guests will be treated to a tasting menu created by Tom featuring local produce and foraged finds from the hotel’s estate.

Tom Lewis, owner of Monachyle Mhor and The Mhor Group, said: “After the incredibly difficult year for both the hospitality sector, our visitors and indeed society as a whole, we wanted to host a series of events that bring a little sparkle to people’s autumn, while also supporting our long-term partners and local producers.

"We have worked with Liberty Wines for a long time and trust them implicitly when it comes to making sure the wine on our wine list is as tasty as the plates that come out of our kitchen.

"We are delighted that Charles Heinsieck chose to launch its new champagnes at Monachyle Mhor and we think the hotel provides the perfect setting for this luxurious, yet understated, champagne house.”

Ewen Lamont, Liberty Wines, added: “Liberty Wines have been working with Monachyle Mhor for over 10 years and we can’t think of a more superior location, both in regards food and drink and location.

"After the trials and tribulations of the past 18 months, what better way to celebrate our newfound freedoms that with a luxury staycation featuring Wine & Whisky Safari, a mere stone’s throw from Scotland’s capital.”

Nestled between two Lochs Voil and Doine and overlooked by some of Scotland’s most famous mountains (Schehallion sits at the end of Balquhidder Glen) Monachyle Mhor has a reputation for simple luxury, great food and the very best of Scotland’s scenery.
