Nick Nairn opened his first restaurant at Braeval near Aberfoyle and quickly became Scotland’s youngest Michelin-starred chef when he won his first star in 1991. He went on to run a successful restaurant in Glasgow and achieved widespread popularity with high rated TV programmes including Wild Harvest and Ready Steady Cook.
Nick is committed to improving the standard of cooking and eating in Scotland and has been working with the Scottish Government to achieve that.
The Nick Nairn Cook School was set up in April 2000 with one very simple aim: to get more people cooking by giving people the skills necessary to be able to turn great raw ingredients into great food.
Today, they’ve got two great cook school locations, having opened another cook school in Aberdeen in 2012; the Aberdeen cook school is also home to the newly launched Pizza and Wine Bar, serving delicious, freshly baked Neapolitan style pizzas.
Across the two locations, there are lots of courses to choose from, whether its a full-on foodie day or a “Quick Cook” two-hour session.
The cookery schools offer the very best in tuition, produce, facilities and locations. Whatever class you choose, you’ll be glad you spent the time with them.
