The Capaldi-inspired drink named Bathgate to La has been exclusively created by mixologists from the stylish So.La on Mitchell St, and is a sweet fusion of freshly muddled Japanese ginger, craft Roku gin, and a delicious lychee liqueur to offer a taste to what to expect from the 2019 Glasgow Cocktail Weekend.

The Bathgate to LA cocktail is available now until Mother's Day, or free if you are called Lewis Capaldi.

Not one to miss a freebie, the singer posted on Instagram stories that he was heading down to claim his drink.

Posing for fans before sitting down to try his drink, Lewis said that the cocktail: "hits you in the face."

Louise Rusk, co-owner of So L.A. said to Glasgow Live: “We know Lewis is a gin connoisseur so we created the cocktail in his honour with gin as a base. We never thought for one minute he’d be the first person to try it but we’re so glad he did."

Known for cake making, experimental jam recipes, Champagne, whisky and gin drinking (and the inability to cook Gnocchi), Rosalind is the Food and Drink Editor and whisky writer for The Scotsman, as well as hosting Scran, The Scotsman's food and drink podcast.
