City centre venue launches Glasgow's first 'pop-down' bar to celebrate 10th birthday

The Urban Bar & Brasserie is to give its customers a birthday treat, as part of its 10th Birthday celebrations, with the launch of a brand new venue.

The owner of the iconic city centre venue, Alan Tomkins, has announced the opening of a new offering, Sub-Urban, which is situated underneath the current Brasserie location at 21 St Vincent Place.

The new 'pop-down' bar will be aimed at a younger audience and will be serving craft beer and cocktails.

Tomkins, who is excited by the prospect of customers getting to see the new bar in action , said: “We’re delighted to be expanding Urban given how loyal our customers have been over the past 10 years. I can’t believe its been ten years since we opened – it’s flown by.”

“Sub-Urban is a younger establishment which offers the very best in light entertainment, cocktails and is just down stairs from the Brasserie which is Glasgow’s newest ‘pop-down bar’”

• The public are invited to attend the official opening of Sub-Urban on Friday 13th May, starting at 6:30pm.
