Graham’s The Family Dairy will mark its second year as Official Ice Cream Sponsor of the Edinburgh International Film Festival by creating a new range of bespoke ice cream flavours inspired by classic cinema snacks.

The trio of new flavours -  cheesy nachos, hot dog and popcorn - will be taste-tested by members of the public with the favourite being made available to filmgoers at screenings and events during the Festival, alongside other Graham’s other favourites and brand new summery flavours including honeycomb, black cherry and pink bubble gum.

Sampling of the winning, limited edition ice cream will take place during the free outdoor Film Fest in the City event at St Andrews Square Gardens from 10-12th June.

Due to its successful innovation of flavours, Graham’s ice cream range, which is produced and packaged at its Airthrey Kerse Farm in Bridge of Allan, Stirlingshire, saw a 66 per cent rise in sales last year.

Established in 1947, Edinburgh International Film Festival is renowned around the world for discovering and promoting the very best in international cinema and for heralding and debating changes in global filmmaking.  The 2016 Festival, running from 15th-26th June, marks the 70th edition of the Festival, making it the longest continually running film festival in the world.

Carol Graham, Marketing Director of Graham’s The Family Dairy, said:“We’re delighted to be partnering with the EIFF for a second year running and look forward to an exciting programme of screenings and events. Cinema and ice cream go hand in hand so it’s a natural fit for us.

"To mark our second year as official sponsor, we wanted to create something a bit different to celebrate the love of the silver screen here in Scotland’s film-loving capital, and these new cinema inspired flavours are just a bit of fun.  My personal favourite is the popcorn ice cream and I look forward to enjoying it alongside a fantastic line-up of festival films this summer.”

Chief Executive of the Centre for the Moving Image, Ken Hay added: “We’re delighted to welcome back Graham’s The Family Dairy as our official ice cream partner for the 70th edition of EIFF, giving Festival audiences the chance to enjoy Graham's amazing range of ice creams.”
