The stunning Scottish coastal town where you can get a ‘pure filthy’ chippy breakfast

An award-winning fish and chip shop in a popular Scottish seaside town has recently launched a breakfast menu.

Getting away to the seaside is a summer tradition for many, and with some warm weather coming up now is the perfect time. If you’re planning a day trip or weekend away in St Andrews, one of the most popular destinations in Fife’ East Neuk, then you’ll be able to tuck into a ‘filthy breakfast’ from an award-winning chippy in the picturesque town.

Cromars, on Union Street, is serving up a brekkie to be proud of with the Pure Filthy Breakfast menu available from 9am to 11.30am daily. 

Enjoy a base of golden hash brown bites, topped with a fried egg, smothered in melted cheese, and loaded with your choice of sauces, as well as a choice of smoked sausage bits; crispy bacon or veggie sausage.

The team are also serving classic breakfast rolls - bacon, sausage or veggie – or for those who’re looking for something lighter, there’s the new ‘Boost Your Breakfast Box’ for £5.95, which includes a Greek yoghurt with chocolate granola and a Monster Mango Loco yoghurt shake.

Last year Cromars introduced seasonal specials such as deep fried pigs in blankets and mince pies for Christmas and rolled back to 1940s prices to celebrate the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

In 2018 Cromars took home the title of best in Scotland at The National Fish and Chip Awards.
