New restaurant and bar Eleanore opens in Edinburgh

The new restaurant and bar is the second eatery from Roberta Hall McCarron.

Eleanore takes its name from the boat owned by Roberta’s family, the restaurant is reminiscent of her time spent along the Scottish coastline as a child.

It is the new restaurant and wine bar from Roberta Hall McCarron and Shaun McCarron, located where The Little Chartroom used to be located.

Eleanore is a relaxed counterculture dining experience, with high-top tables and a flexible and constantly changing menu. The restaurant and bar serves small plates from the open kitchen, highlighting the best of Scottish produce.

Chefs Hamish McNeil and Moray Lamb (formerly of Little Chartroom on The Prom) will run the pass, whilst also incorporating their own culinary influences.

Dishes include Oysters, salami mignonette x2 (£4); cured halibut, orange kosho (£7.50); Cod, haricot beans, cockles, samphire, sea persillade (£20).

Regularly changing wine list curated by Johanna Cole (formerly of the Lucky Liquor Co.), and a considered selection of seasonal cocktails making use of foraged Scottish ingredients and homemade shrubs.

The husband-wife duo worked with Studio Niro, the interiors are inspired by the makings of a sailboat and the Scottish coastline, incorporating soft whites and hints of dark blues, with earthy tones from the muds of the deep sea reflected in the hand-crafted ceramics.

The intimate space has been designed for flexible dining for 20 guests, from a full meal to a glass of wine.

Find Eleanore at 30-31 Albert Place, Edinburgh, EH7 5HN
