Corrour Station House, made famous by a scene in Trainspotting, is seeking staff as they gear to reopen for the season.
Known as the UK's most remote restaurant with rooms, and made famous by Ewan McGregor's rant about being Scottish in hit film Trainspotting, Corrour Station is looking for staff for an 'all rounder' position for this summer.
Ideal for those that want to escape city life, or experience working in a remote and historic location, the team at the beautiful spot posted about the vacancy on their social media.
The wrote: "With not too long to go until this years season kicks off we are looking for a couple (or two friends) to join our small team.
"It’s an all-rounder position. The daily duties would include customer service, barista work, housekeeping, help with kitchen prep and service along with some KP jobs.
"Any previous kitchen experience would be advantageous. Accommodation is provided along with an excellent rate of pay and an equal share of the tips.
"Five day working week from the end of March until the end of October. Please note this role is for a couple or friends who wouldn’t mind sharing a room."
Shona Griffiths, who runs the Station House and has worked at the station since 2014, said: "It's the most beautiful place, the roles would suit people who love the outdoors and want to get away from it all. It's quite an interesting role, it's not your usual hospitality gig."
Corrour Station is one of the UK’s most remote railway stations, and is only accessible by train or a 20-mile walk. It is part of the Corrour Estate, and includes Corrour Station House.
The restaurant is open from 8.30 am to around the time when the last train departs at night.
The station was built by the West Highland Railway in the 1890s on the line linking Glasgow and Fort William, with the location being made famous after Ewan McGregor’s iconic “it’s s***e being Scottish” rant in the film Trainspotting.
