The House of Shah created its new chicken pakora using batter made with a special ingredient - Irn-Bru.

Joe Shah, whose family own the eatery, told the Daily Record that he created the new dish after discussing different ideas with customers, he said: “We are always coming up with new ideas and like to try them out."

Joe also added that his team are no strangers to using interesting ingredients, having previously created a Buckfast korma - which was still very popular - and at a previous shop, lager tikka, he said: “My dad, Cal, helped to create our Buckfast korma some years ago – it was a great success and we still have it on the menu.

“So we thought we would combine Scotland’s other national drink and add it to our pakora and see what it tasted like.

“Many of our customers order the two so we thought we would try to combine both of them. Our chef has been trying out the recipe, and we think we have cracked it.”
