The Edinburgh Whisky Solstice will entertain and educate new fans on the water of life by bringing more than 35 whisky producers to the capital’s Assembly Rooms on Saturday 25th June between 12-5pm.

Organised by The Whisky Lounge, in partnership with the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, festival-goers will get the chance to meet distillers, sample whiskies from across the world and take part in special masterclasses.

Eddie Ludlow, Founder and Whisky Evangelist at The Whisky Lounge said: “We aim to bring whisky to a new audience by breaking down the barriers and myths that stop more people falling in love with Scotland’s national drink.

“Whether young, old, male or female, the Edinburgh Whisky Solstice offers everyone the opportunity to try some of the world’s leading malts and blends, as well as select Scottish food producers too. It’s a relaxed, fun environment in which to experiment and enjoy a dram among friends - whether you like it neat or as a cocktail there will be something for everyone.”

Masterclasses will be led by renowned writer and whisky expert Charles MacLean, who will join The Highland Chocolatier, Iain Burnett, to deliver a special ‘whisky and chocolate’ session.

• The Edinburgh Whisky Solstice runs from 12-5pm, with tickets available from £30 at www.thewhiskylounge.com
