BBC Good Food Show announce their shortlist for Glasgow’s Best Independent Food Shop

The BBC Good Food Show Scotland has announced its shortlist of the ten shops who will be competing for the title of Glasgow’s Best Independent Food Shop. 

The team behind the foodie event, working in conjunction with BBC Good Food Magazine, have been scouring the city to find the very best independent food shop.

The first contender had already been confirmed after Billingtons Of Lenzie was automatically shortlisted for winning the public vote on Twitter and Instagram.

Now, Billingtons and the nine other contenders who were announced today (20th September) will be judged by the BBC team of experts, which includes senior food editor Barney Desmazery  and specialty food manager Catriona Bank.

Those shortlisted include a social enterprise, a cheesemonger, a doughnut shop and Scotland's first ever liquid deli company.

• George Mewes Cheese

•  Kimbles

• Piece

• Quality Vitamins & Herbs

The winner will receive a free stand at the BBC Good Food Show Scotland at the SECC from the 4th to the 6th of November to showcase their shop to thousands of food loving visitors.
