Pasta and wine are the perfect partners, and you can have both on Wednesday February 23, when Edinburgh’s Mistral wine bar and Portobello’s Aemilia team up.
“We are super excited about this pop-up and we hope it to be the first of many,” says Giada Betti, who owns pasta business, Aemilia, with her partner, Kipras Preidys.
The event will take place at the Leith bar from 6pm until 9.30pm, with a menu of three courses for £25, food only, with guests able to choose from a selection of pasta-friendly wine on the night.
There will be a starter of focaccia and mortadella and a main course of tortellini in crema di Parmigiana - traditional pasta parcels from Emilia-Romagna in a rich Parmesan cream.
Pudding is “coffee cloud” - a light meringue topped with a smooth coffee and chocolate mascarpone cream.
If you can’t make the next event, don’t worry.
“If it goes well and the guests are happy, we will aim to do them once a month”, says Sam Barker of Mistral.
