TGI Fridays to introduce its first vegan dishes

Restaurant chain TGI Fridays is set to offer a new range of vegan options on its menus for the first time.

The new made-to-order dishes will include Smoked Tomato Bruschetta, featuring vegan garlic bread, Avocado Houmous and roasted veg Alfredo pasta and garlic vegetable fajitas, featuring edamame beans and fiery Scorpion Sauce.

A spokesperson for the brand said: "This is vegan food, but not as you know it, with Fridays putting its own spin and famous flavours on the vegan trend."

As part of the new launch, the brand have also added a new range of dishes under 600 calories and a new limited edition burger.

Those looking to enjoy a healthier option when eating out at TGIs can now pick from several lighter options including the Cajun Cream Pasta and the Crispy Noodle Salad – both available with chicken or prawns.

The chain has also announced the launch of the limited edition Rib Tickler Burger, featuring a flame-grilled beef burger topped with a pork rib, coated in golden mustard BBQ sauce.

As part of their commitment to charitable causes TGIs has announced it will be donating crockery including 10,000 plates to hunger and food waste charity FareShare.

Head of food and drink at TGI Fridays UK, and creator of the new menu, Terry McDowell, said: “Fridays has always been on the cusp of new food trends in the UK, and we felt the time was right to put a focus on new vegan items on our menu to cater to the ever-increasing demand.

"Fridays is all about being inclusive and the latest menu change allows us to cater to everyone who wants to try Fridays’ famous, bold flavours.”
