Shirley Spear and Scott Davies bring a taste of Skye to Edinburgh Food Festival

Join Shirley Spear and Scott Davies, the two key players behind the acclaimed Three Chimneys Restaurant on the Isle of Skye, for a master class in preparing and cooking Skye seafood, at this year’s Edinburgh Food Festival.

Located in Edinburgh’s George Square Gardens in the iconic Edinburgh Food Festival Spiegeltent Palais Du Variete, the free show kicks off at 1pm on Sunday 31 st July.

Shirley Spear, Founder of The Three Chimneys, will provide a one-off insight into Skye’s suppliers and the 31-year long history behind one of Scotland’s most iconic restaurants, which was named in the UK’s Top 100 Restaurants List by The Sunday Times.

Head Chef Scott Davies will be showcasing the very best of Skye’s local produce, fresh from the sea that surrounds the island. As well as an educational insight into the preparation of Lobster, Langoustines, Scallops and Crab, Chef Scott will be making a signature Three Chimneys dish; Potato Risotto with Fresh Crab.

Shirley Spear, Co-Owner of The Three Chimneys and The House Over-By said: “Chef Scott Davies and I are looking forward to being in Edinburgh to make this presentation together – a first for us! Scott will be doing all the work while I handle the microphone and we hope to have a bit of banter together with those who have come along to watch him demonstrate tackling fresh crab and other Scottish seafood.”

Headline shows include Gorgie Farm's ‘From Farm to Fork’ for the under 5’s, Speakeasy Spiegeltent Swing on the Friday evening, and Ready Steady Chef with Tom Lewis and Guy Grieve on the Sunday, who are in search of Edinburgh’s Top Cooks.
