John Laurie, the 'behind the scenes' butcher at Christine's Cottage Kitchen in Fallin made the blue square sausage on 9 March to celebrate the historic win by Rangers.

The 'Champions Sausage' is made with the same square sausage recipe used in the butcher's usual offering, but with the addition of blue food colouring.

The blue square sausage, which has already sold out, was priced at £5.50 for half a block and £10 for a full block.

Posting on the Christine's Cottage Facebook page, Michelle Roberston wrote: "As many of you will already know, Mr John Laurie, the behind the scenes butcher at Christine’s Cottage, is a huge Rangers fan!

"And has been threatening for weeks that if Rangers won the league he’s making the square sausage BLUE! Me and my mam thought he was winding us up but he’s only gone and done it!"

Comments on the post were from customers saying how fantastic it was and getting their orders in.

Rangers officially won the Scottish Football League for the 2020/21 Season on Sunday 7 March - the first time they've won in 10 years.

This isn't the first old firm related celebration with food and drink. Distillers Eden Mill have released a range of gins celebrating Celtic wins.

The latest release was a limited edition set of miniatures, launched last year to toast the team’s nine in a row success.
