Isle of Skye eatery named among the best in the UK

The acclaimed Three Chimneys restaurant on the Isle of Skye has been named one of the UK’s top ten eateries by TripAdvisor a year after losing its coveted Michelin star.

The Three Chimneys, which opened three decades ago, was named fifth best restaurant in the UK in the website’s Travellers’ Choice awards. The restaurant attained its first Michelin star in October 2014 but lost the accolade almost one year later.

Oxford’s Belmond Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons was ranked fourth in the world and was overall winner within the UK for the second time.

TripAdvisor spokeswoman, Hayley Coleman said: “With more UK restaurants in the world top ten than any other country for the second year running, the UK has again proved that it’s a heavyweight player in the world of fine dining.”
