Greggs has announced that it has another profit-boosting vegan launch lined up for January 2020, though hasn't yet revealed what it will be.

Months of speculation has proceeded Greggs' confirmation of a new product this week: "The rumours are true," said a statement, "We can’t wait to reveal more about the launch and how we will be adding to our vegan menu."

Though speculation is rife, it is likely be using Quorn, a popular choice of manufacturer for fast food outlets when it comes to vegan food in Britain; and pastry.

The vegan sausage roll became one of Greggs' fastest-selling products of all time and remains in the top five on a daily basis. Any protests were washed away by people eager to cut-down on meat but still get their bakery fill.

Demand for vegan food is on the rise, Deliveroo noted recently that sales of plant-based food have shot up some 330 per cent in just two years.
