Fife gelateria launches haggis ice cream for Burns night

A popular gelateria in Fife has created a special limited-edition ice cream.

The family-run gelateria in St Andrews will be serving up a specially created haggis ice cream for Burns night.

Meat-free but with all the spicy flavours you’d expect from Scotland’s national dish, the secret recipe has been developed by master ice cream maker, Owen Hazel using spices found in haggis - making it an ideal treat this Burns night.

Ingredients like cracked black pepper and thyme give the ice cream an oaty, fragrant taste with fiery undertones.

Owners Nicola and Owen Hazel have always been innovative in their creations. Working with local producers and seeking out unique ingredients, the team create  limited-edition flavours throughout the year.

The haggis ice cream is available in-store from Monday 20th January through to Burn’s Night on Saturday 25th January, with cones from £2.

Other true Scottish scoops that will be available include Whisky, Tablet, Cranachan and Irn Bru sorbet.
