It's one of the most popular baking shows on TV and now you could take part as the Great British Bake Off searches for Scots to apply for next year's show.

Love Productions who produce the popular show, which is hosted by Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig and sees the contestants put through their paces by Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, have announced that applications for series 11 are now open.

This means that you, or the best baker you know, could be one of the 13 contestants competing for the crown won by David Atherton on this year’s show.

To apply you must be aged 16 years or over (on 1 January 2020), able to film the show between July and August 2020 and be an amateur baker – i.e.  not have any NVQ, BTEC and/or any equivalent professional qualification in baking, cooking or catering.

A spokesperson for Love said: “The hunt is on to find Britain’s best amateur bread-kneaders, cake-makers and jelly-setters, and it just might be you. If you or someone you know is a smart cookie in the kitchen maybe it’s time to take a whisk and apply.”

Deadline for applications is Sunday the 5th January and you can apply here, or for more information follow GBBO on Twitter and Facebook.
