Posting on the crowdfunder page, the trio wrote: "We want to show our support and provide a morale boost (in the form of pizza) to our brave healthcare workers on the frontline who are working tirelessly to help battle Coronavirus in Scotland

"We are looking to start by delivering pizzas from independent restaurants on Friday night to three of the largest hospitals in Scotland and hopefully expand out from there."

Mark Dickson, who launched the funding drive with friends Blair Bowman and Helen MacInnes, said: "We're just three friends who want to do our part to help support healthcare workers on the frontline at this difficult time.

"I asked my wife, who's a surgeon, what helps morale on difficult shifts to which she replied, 'Pizza never goes down badly'.

"These guys work long shifts on their feet, often without a break and helping chip in for a slice of pizza seems a simple way anyone can help out."
