Luxury Edinburgh cocktail bar The Register Club announces reopening date - and new afternoon tea menu

The plush bar inside the Edinburgh Grand will welcome guests again from next month.

The Register Club, located inside The Edinburgh Grand serviced apartments, has announced it will welcome guests again on 1 October.

Situated in the former RBS headquarters on St Andrew Square, the Cheval Edinburgh Grand's fourth floor cocktail bar will not only be shaking up a range of delicious drinks, but will also be serving afternoon tea.

Diners can tuck into traditional offering, with homemade scones and Scottish jam and sweet treats as well as a savoury selection using the finest seasonal produce from artisan suppliers across Scotland - all within the plush surroundings of the bar.

Afternoon teas start from £28 per person, and champagne afternoon tea, which includes a glass of Billecart-Salmon Brut Réserve, starts from £38 per person.

In addition to the afternoon tea, a new look food and drinks menu will also be available.

Guests can look forward to light bites, nibbles, and sharing plates with a Scottish twist, and all food on the menu is locally sourced and seasonal.

Dishes include haggis bon bons, baked taleggio and ox cheek and stout pie. On the drinks menu, those looking for a tipple can sip on a classic, such as a martini and Singapore sling or why not try a whisky based cocktail?

The Register Club consists of a cocktail bar, lounge, games room and snug and has the feel and look of a private members club, with lovely views of the adjacent square.

General manager of Cheval The Edinburgh Grand, Gavin MacLennan said: "We’re incredibly happy to begin reopening our food and beverage offerings at Cheval The Edinburgh Grand from Thursday 1 October.

Cheval The Edinburgh Grand has introduced a host of stringent new hygiene and cleaning protocols and social distancing measures, in line with government advice – without ever compromising on the elegance and luxury for which the luxury serviced apartments are renowned.

Afternoon Tea will be served between 3-5.3opm from 1 October, with bookings available now.
