Historic Scottish castle releases dates for limited edition foodie events

The castle, which is usually only available for exclusive use, has dates for the diary from January till March 2019.

These include a guest chef dinner and a special screening of the Mary Queen of Scots film, which can be enjoyed in the surroundings where she once stayed.

To celebrate the premiere of Mary Queen of Scots the film, Borthwick Castle will welcome guests to enjoy an evening of regal medieval delights in the place where she once stayed.

Mary, Queen of Scots is recorded as visiting Borthwick Castle at least twice, most famously in 1567 as she sought refuge with her new lover, the Earl of Bothwell, following the murder of her husband, Lord Darnley. Bothwell was the main suspect in the murder but later acquitted.

The evening includes a seasonal four-course meal with wine flight and history talk, plus the option of a luxurious overnight stay with breakfast the following morning.

Price:  £160 per person for four-course medieval banquet with wine flight.
