Everything you need to know about Aldi's new online alcohol delivery service

Supermarket Aldi is set to open up its award-winning spirits range to thousands more customers across the UK with the launch of an online delivery service - as demand for its quality spirits offering continues to grow.

The online store will go live on the today, 26 July, at the supermarket's dedicated website, where over 20 spirits will be available to purchase including the shoppers favourite and International Spirits Challenge Gold 2018 award winning Oliver Cromwell London Dry Gin.

Customers can also stock up on Aldi’s latest Gin Festival range – a collection of on-trend, craft-style and flavoursome blends, including the Oliver Cromwell Pink Gin and the Sri-Lankan Colombo No.7 Gin.

The minimum pricing in Scotland may affect some purchases but any orders placed to Scottish addresses which do not meet the requirements of the minimum pricing will be refunded.

The site will offer a unique ‘create your own case’ purchasing option - allowing customers to mix and match their favourite tipples from both spirits and wine to create a personalised selection of drinks to suit any social occasion.

Shoppers will be able to purchase products for home delivery, or conveniently collect from participating local stores with the help of the Collect+ delivery service.

Boasting 34 international accolades this year alone, including Gold for the Napoleon Brandy at the recent International Wines and Spirits Competition, Aldi’s spirits range offers fantastic quality without the hefty price tag and has seen phenomenal demand in recent times as a result.  

The supermarket sells over 12,000 bottles of gin per day and 7 bottles of whisky per minute.

Its premium whisky offering including the Highland Black 8-Year-Old Scotch Whisky, which was recently named as one of the best in the world, has seen Aldi reach a milestone £50m worth of whisky sales in the past 12 months alone.

Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi UK, said: “The incredible success of our spirits range this year, including a 75% increase in gin sales alone, has proven that our offering is more popular than ever.

"We launched our online wine store two years ago to ensure that our great quality and incredible value products were accessible to all of our customers, even if they don’t currently live near an Aldi store.

Aldi’s online service is available to customers throughout the UK with no minimum order, with the exception of Northern Ireland.

The launch follows the success of the supermarket’s online shopping platform for its wine range, which has seen 4.4 million bottles sold since its launch in 2016.
