Popular Glasgow-based beer company announces it has entered liquidation

A popular Glasgow-based beer company has announced on social media that it is in liquidation.

Posting on their Facebook page Hippo Beers Ltd, which own a bar on Sauchiehall Street and a beer shop on Queen Margaret Drive, wrote: "We regret to confirm that Hippo Beers Ltd is in liquidation. Stuart Robb and Julien Irving of Leonard Curtis Recovery Ltd were appointed as joint provisional liquidators."

The brand, who have been hugely popular with Glasgow beer lovers since they opened added: "Thanks for everyone's support over the last five years."

At the time of writing, it was unclear what will happen to both the Taproom and the Beer Shop.
