Purrple Cat Cafe will open later this year once the site is safe for their resident kitties, and owner Tracey Malcolmson told Glasgow Live: “My vision for the place is as a sanctuary for the cats that will live there, and for the people of Glasgow to come and spend their downtime chilling with the moggies.”
Great news for cat lovers in the city, made better by the fact that the cafe is now hiring staff.

Obviously ideal for those who have experience of caring for cats (and love them), the website warns: “Cat care is 90% cleaning and 10% cuddles.
"So turn back now if you're scared to clean up after the cats! However, you are more than welcome as a customer!”
The job advert for the 'Cattendants' details the role, which includes tasks such as waiting tables, caring for customers and cats, kitchen and coffee counter work and the ability to work well within a team.
The roles will be fully trained and new staff will be provided with protective equipment required for tasks.

Employees will also benefit from a competitive rate of pay (at least the Scottish Living Wage) and a good work/life balance with the full time roles capped at 30 hours per week, to allow for two full consecutive days off.
Part time roles will be a minimum of 12 hours per week, and there will also be a bank of staff on file, ideal for those who require more flexibility or who are unable to commit to set hours each week.
