Buckfast Slushie unveiled by Glasgow bar ahead of World Buckfast Day

A bar in Glasgow's city centre has unveiled its latest drink for the summer, a Buckfast slushie.

Inspired by World Buckfast Day, which takes place on the 13th May, Glasgow Bar Driftwood, which is well known for its excellently outlandish drinks offering and themed cocktails, have created a brand new slush drink.

Posting on their facebook page, the bar team say the "Buckie Slush" will be on offer for just £3 a glass.

Bar manager Nicola Walker explained that even though it had just been launched, the alcoholic ice drink was already proving very popular with their customers, she said: "We wanted to do something at Driftwood for World Buckfast Day so this seemed the perfect time to trial the 'Bucky Slush'.

"We had so much success with our Venom Slush and Strawberry MadDog Daiquiri Slush that we knew this would be a popular one as well.

According to Nicola it's not just fans of the now infamous drink who are enjoying it either, she added: "I was overwhelmed at the response to it and people have come from far and wide to try it already. We've also noticed that people who aren't even keen on Buckfast have said how nice the Slush is!"
