Then why not book into a pop up restaurant? With a range of dining experience happening in Scotland, from tasting menus, wine pairings and eating in the sky, there's something for all occasions.
This year marks the second trip to Edinburgh for popular pop up, Dram and Smoke. Usually situated in and around London, the company has hosted a range of events in Scotland and celebrates Scottish produce.
After last year's successful menu, this year sees a campfire feast concept and complementary cocktail sessions (to be booked separately).
The four course menu includes modern takes on nostalgic flavours such as Ploughman's picnic, smoked chicken and BBQ pineapple. Tickets for the meal also include a welcome cocktail.
With round reclaimed wooden tables that sit 10 people and a large banquet table that sits around 25, Dram and Smoke is the ideal night out for groups of friends, couples or for solo diners to mingle with other, like-minded foodies.

The organisers have over 30 years experience in award-wining dining and service and promise dishes from as little as £6. They strive to deliver the best slow cooked meal in the most fashionable restaurant without high-end prices or any pompousness. Sounds good to us.

Thrill seekers will enjoy the Glasgow pop up of the famed Events in the Sky dining experience. Located within the city centre in George Square, the views of the city are incredible but it's the food that will have diners talking.
Having teamed up with some of Glasgow's well-known restaurants such as The Gannet, Porter & Rye, Cafe Gandolfi and Blythswood Square, the experience is divided into five sittings - breakfast, afternoon tea, lunch, dinner and night time cocktails.
Seating 22 guests, who are strapped in before being hoisted into the sky , the guest chef, sommelier and waiting staff will treat diners to a unique experience. Just don't ask to go to the toilet!
