“Largest ever” Christmas beer hall opening in atmospheric Scottish city park

A huge winter wonderland beer hall with pub quiz and street food will open this month.

The Winter Wonderland on the Green will open in Glasgow Green on 21 November, and Innis & Gunn have been named as the official beer partner of the 700-capacity festive ber hall.

Complete with daily live music, fire pits, festive cocktails and food from local favourites award-winning Cromars fish and chips and Dockyard Social, the beer hall is set to become one of the city’s most atmospheric spots for winter get-togethers.

Expect pub quizzes every Monday from the team behind Goose’s Quiz, Trad Thursdays with live folk music, and acoustic sets covering festive favourites every night of the week.

Inside, the beer hall has long tables, fairy lights and a relaxed, sociable vibe. Outside, guests can gather around fire pits or grab mulled wine and winter cocktails from the bar.

Dougal Sharp, founder and master brewer at Innis & Gunn, said: “Scotland does winter better than anywhere, and this is it at its best.

“Great beer, great food, great music, all under one roof, right in the heart of Glasgow.

“We’re proud to be pouring our award-winning beers at the city’s biggest festive beer hall, and to be bringing a real taste of Scottish hospitality to Winter Wonderland on The Green.”

The beer hall sits at the heart of Winter Wonderland at Glasgow Green, which replaces George Square’s usual Christmas hub this year.

Run by Scotland’s Theme Park Events, the event features an open-air ice rink, popular family rides, the Mad Mouse rollercoaster, and the Venetian Flying Chairs.

The Winter Beer Hall is free to enter and open from 3–10pm Monday to Friday and 12–10pm at weekends.
