Bake of the Professionals 2023: Two Scottish bakers to compete in show

The professional version of the popular baking show is back on Channel 4, and two Scottish bakers are taking part.

Bake Off: The Professionals is back for an eighth series with a fresh batch of pastry chefs competing to be named Britain’s Best.

Former Bake Off contestant, Liam Charles, is back as presenter, and he joined by a new co-host, comedian, actress and writer Ellie Taylor.

Judges are , again, Benoit Blin, Chef Pâtissier at Raymond Blanc’s Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, and Cherish Finden, formerly Executive Pastry Chef of the Pan Pacific London Hotel.

Filmed at Firle Place in Sussex, the competition sees professional bakers from across the country, team up in pairs to take on different challenges each week.

The Scottish chefs competing are Chantelle and Kasia from Glenapp Castle in Ayrshire. Other duos are from Norfolk, Essex, Birmingham and Darlington.

  • Baking professionals Mustapha and Tracy
  • Chantelle and Kasia from Glenapp Castle

  • Baking professionals Martyn and Jenny
  • Mauro and Daniel from The Landmark London
  • Mayank and Dharma from St James’ Court, A Taj Hotel
  • Baking professionals Naira and Andrea
  • Nicoletta and Georgina from Meraki Baking Studio

Showpiece challenges will include family favourite bakes such as banoffee pie and bread and butter pudding, while mille-feuille and peach melba are reimagined.

Themes include: Safari, Archaeology, Land of the Giants, Life of Amphibians and Reptiles and Mad Science. For the first time, teams are asked to create a fully suspended showpiece on the theme of Take Flight.
