Dream jobs for Islay whisky fans up for grabs at Bruichladdich and Octomore

Two famous names in Islay whisky are recruiting - and they're dream roles for those that love and are knowledgeable of the brands.

Bruichladdich and Octomore are extremely popular whiskies from Islay, and both have jobs available - as the team are currently seeking global brand managers.

Resurrected in 2000, Bruichladdich (pronounced broo-ick-laddie) distillery is situated at the wild Rhinns of Islay.

Octomore was first distilled by Bruichladdich in 2002 when then master distiller Jim McEwan decided to create a peated single malt.

The Bruichladdich brand manager role is maternity cover for 12 months while the Octomore job is permanent, and both are being advertised with recruitment consultants Denholm Associates.

Key areas of expertise for both roles include: Brand Management experience of working within premium spirits or luxury goods, the ability to build annual brand plans and global toolkits which can be localised to different markets’ needs, brand marketing knowledge and experience with proven track record of delivering success, ideally both in a local and international market, and a passion for whisky and a genuine enthusiast, with a good working knowledge of premium spirits.

Of the Octomore position, the job ad reads: "This is a dynamic role within a small and agile team.

"If you are passionate about the whisky/spirits category and love the idea of working on a cult brand then we want to hear from you."

The Bruicladdich brand manager job ad reads: "Bruichladdich are at a new stage in the life cycle for the brand with clear ambitions for the future and are developing a new brand idea, range architecture and campaign for relaunch.

"The role will require impeccable project management skills to manage this relaunch, a clear understanding of markets and interpersonal skills to ensure buy in and agency management to create assets for best in class activation.

"It is an incredible opportunity for someone passionate and ambitious to work in an agile business on a brand that is stand out in the industry.
