Launching during the week, Absurd Bird Glasgow gave away over £1,000 in cash and £1,000 in “Johnny Cash”, which gives you free wings, to announce that they are officially open in the city.
Stating that they are "born from a passion for great food, cocktails and a love affair of America's deep south", the brand unveiled what they described as their "most exciting concept to date", with interiors decorated in Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton memorabilia, Happy Days style 1950s booths, live music and DJs and of course the chicken dishes they are famous for.
In a nod to their new home, the firm has also created a special dish for Scottish fans, with Irn-Bru added to the sauce of its signature chicken wings - the juicy British-farmed wings are marinated in fizz before being cooked and topped with crunchy popping candy.
Popular items from the Absurd Bird menu will also make their way north, including the recently launched ‘Total Melt’, inspired by the nations guilty pleasure Love Island, the outrageous chicken and cheese fondue, combines giant BBQ chicken wings, chicken sliders, buffalo tenders and deep fried Babybels, served with a mountain of Wotsit dust to sprinkle on top.
