Perfect for cocktail aficionados and the cocktail curious, Cocktails in the City invites guests to discover sixteen of the city’s most exciting, exclusive and famous bars, the finest drinks and the most creative bartenders, all under one roof.
Dubbed as the ‘world’s most convenient’ cocktail crawl thanks to everything being in one location - therefore there's no need for buses, taxis or trams - this year's event is set to welcome 16 of the city’s best bars, from hotels and party haunts, to speakeasies, tiki bars and restaurant bars, meaning there is something for everyone.
The theme in 2018 is Inspired by Edinburgh and the drinks will be taking ideas from the people, history, events and flavours that make the city so unique.
The event will be held at The Hub, which lies just off of the Royal Mile and is a short walk from Waverley train station.
It will take place on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th November and runs from 6pm until 11pm.
The Hub, Castlehill, Edinburgh, EH1 2NE
The entry ticket is £12 (Book here) and includes one cocktail - redeemable at any of the 16 pop-up bars in attendance - and a cocktail booklet.
Cocktails are then £6.50 and available throughout the night.
The event, which in the past has been described as “a delectable festival of drinks” by Condé Nast Traveller, is a unique chance to celebrate the quality
and diversity of Edinburgh’s vibrant world-class cocktail scene.
Alongside 16 of the city’s most exclusive bars, guests can enjoy cocktail masterclasses, tasting sessions and even get the chance to use foraged ingredients to rustle up their own gin-based cocktails.
There’ll be the chance to sample the signature cocktails specially created for the festival by a diverse range of leading Edinburgh venues, from chic designer style of Harvey Nichol’s Forth Floor Bar to the New Orleans vibes of Hoot the Redeemer in Hanover Street, and award-winning steak and cocktail bar Hawksmoor – plus many more, including 56 North, Juniper Bar and Nightcap.
A new immersive drinks experience, The Tasting Rooms, hosted in partnership with leading online drinks retailer 31Dover.com, offers an
intimate series of tasting sessions with three craft producers in a private setting.
For guests prone to the occasional Espresso Martini, masterclasses with Tia Maria and The Coffee Project will unveil the secrets to creating the perfect drink.
Gin-lovers will want to take a seat at the forage botanical table where they can select from 22 herbs and flowers from Islay, to create their own drink courtesy of The Botanist Gin.
