Mackie’s, will launch its brand new chocolate factory in spring 2016. To celebrate, they will choose one lucky person to be their Chief Chocolate Taster for 12 months.

According to the job description, Applicants must be able to act "like a kid in a sweetie shop" as they are tasked with inventing a top new flavour combination that will be transformed into the ultimate chocolate bar when the new £600,000 factory opens in Aberdeenshire next year.

All ages are welcome and no experience is needed to apply for this once in a lifetime vacancy. The only specifications are that the applicant must have a mouth and tastebuds, be fanatical about chocolate and spilling with interesting flavour combinations.

Mackie's say that the winning idea could be anything from neeps and tatties to macaroon and mackerel.

As well as being a vital new ingredient in the product development team, the Chief Chocolate Taster will also take part in general tasting panels and help to ensure quality control. Basically, they will have a steady supply of chocolate to taste and test all in the comfort of their own home.

Mackie's say they will also require their new CCT to taste test what they refer to as "inferior chocolate brands",  but will compensate them with a monthly salary of Mackie’s chocolate.

To be considered for the role, entrants just have to tell Mackie’s what their dream flavoured chocolate bar would be and why they are the perfect candidate by 3rd December, 2015 at 12pm. The top four creative ideas will be chosen and put to the test at the family farm before two finalists are shortlisted and put head to head via public vote on Facebook.

Kirstin McNutt, Head of Development, said: “This isn’t a Chinese Wispa, we really are recruiting a Chief Chocolate taster for twelve months.

“Mackie’s is committed to everyday indulgence, offering delicious treats including ice-cream, thick cut crisps and, of course, chocolate.”

“At the moment, our chocolate comes in four flavours – milk, honeycomb, dark and Scottish mint. With our brand new factory being capable of making more than 5 million bars annually – we want to share the sweet success with creative candidates who have a taste for bringing us new interesting flavours.
