Guests of the Caledonian Sleeper will soon be able to go on a culinary tour of Scotland with the introduction of a new on board menu.

The new seasonal menu will showcase the country’s rich natural larder, offering a selection of freshly prepared meals and snacks created using ingredients from sustainable sources, all of which can be enjoyed in the comfort of the overnight service’s Lounge Car.

Popular dishes such as smoked salmon from the Summer Isles and hunter’s chicken casserole, as well as sweet treat snacks such as Cobbs of Loch Ness millionaire shortbread, will all feature on the new menu.

Ryan Flaherty, Guest Experience Director at Caledonian Sleeper, said: “Committed to offering an enjoyable and truly Scottish experience, we have developed the new on board menu as part of our mission to help guests sample some of the country’s best local produce.

“From classic dishes to contemporary delights, there is something to suit everyone’s taste. And with children under the age of 12 years old eating for free, families can make themselves comfortable in our on board lounge car before settling down for the night. We also have a great Christmas menu available for a limited bringing a little festivity on board.”

Recently awarded VisitScotland’s highly acclaimed Taste Our Best award, Caledonian Sleeper’s on board food and drink offering has been developed in partnership with Highland-based food manufacturing business RSF Scotland.

Working with a wide network of suppliers, the company says it is committed to cooking dishes from scratch using fresh produce with a traceable provenance.
