Seasonal seafood, Seaside Gin, a stunning location and a bit of dining theatre; The Bay Fish & Chips Pop-Up Restaurant is arriving in the capital for a one-off event this August.

Larger than life Calum Richardson will be taking over the Porto & Fi bistro, which is based on the corner of Newhaven Main Street, ideally situated to capture stunning views over The Firth of Forth, for one exclusive night on Saturday 29th August.

Calum Richardson, owner/chef at The Bay Fish & Chips said: “I can’t wait to bring The Bay to Edinburgh and to be let loose in the Porto & Fi kitchen! Provenance and seasonality is at the heart of what we do at The Bay so that’s what I’ve created the menu and evening around. It’s guaranteed to be the ultimate celebration of Scottish food and drink, I can’t wait to see you all there.”

To start, diners will be welcomed with a Seaside Gin cocktail created especially by Edinburgh Gin. The gin has a distinctively Scottish seaside flavour with a combination of seaweed, scurvy grass and ground ivy. The gin will be perfectly matched with the first handmade artisan Scottish tonic water, Walter Gregor’s by Summerhouse Drinks, made with quinine and a combination of botanicals.

The diners will then experience a tantalising three-course menu, which has been created by award-winning chef Calum Richardson. It includes a Hot Honey Smoked Salmon Salad to start, a Platter of Seasonal Seafood for the main and a refreshing, zingy Lemon Posset with Scottish Berries for dessert. Those dining on the night will experience an extra treat, as chef Calum will be introducing each dish and will be available to talk to diners as the night goes on.

The Bay’s pop-up will be taking reservations for dinner on Saturday 29th August at 6pm and 8pm. The three-course meal plus welcome drink is priced at £27.50pp. To reserve a table please call Porto & Fi on 0131 551 1900
