Taco Bell has been given the go ahead to open its first restaurant in Glasgow.

The American fast food chain - which serves Mexican cuisine - could soon be joining other big North American brands like Krispy Kreme and Tim Hortons in opening their first eatery in Scotland.
In July, The Scotsman reported on the rumours that the company were eyeing up a move to Glasgow.

Having first opened in England in 2010, this will be the first time the American brand have come north of the border and follows hot on the heels of some other high profile launches over the past few years.

The restaurant chain will take over the former Bradfords Bakery unit on Glasgow's Sauchiehall Street.

The restaurant is expected to open before Christmas and the menu will feature the famous eats popular in Taco Bell restaurants all over the world including the Crunchwrap Supreme, quesadilla, tacos and burritos - all served open so diners can eat with their eyes first.

Taco Bell are famous in the US for their cheap tacos and burritos, and are the biggest profit maker in the States for Yum Brands, the US restaurant group behind KFC and Pizza Hut.
