One of the newest on trend eateries in Glasgow's southside is set to launch a tasty array of American themed hotdogs to celebrate Independence Day.

From the 1st to the 4th of July, gourmet hotdog restaurant owner Martin Capaldi will use his US touring adventures to create mouthwatering culinary creations celebrating all things America.

The four day celebration will see customers given the chance to enjoy limited edition hotdogs such as the Big Show, which is named after a WWE wrestler and consists of jumbo corn dog, chilli, onions, monterey jack cheese finished with a mustard drizzle.

On the day itself, the team say there will be a special celebratory half price offer on all of their hotdogs for the full day, with the one off discount applying to the vegan dog, kids dogs and all Surf Dogs signature hotdogs (including the Bob Marley, Beckenbauer and Texan Dogs).

The US theme will also see creamy milkshakes, American craft beers, Samuel Adams, Goose Island 312, Blue Moon or a boozy ‘Jackie Treehorn’ cocktail available for customers to try out too.

Alongside the usual Surf Dogs decor of iconic 80’s movie posters, BMX Bike, retro TV’s and a Surf Board, the southside eatery will also be sporting American flags, balloons and party paraphernalia for the event.

Surfdog founder Martin Capaldi explained that the US played a big part in the creation of Surf Dogs and that he is excited to celebrate that heritage with this Independence Day party, he said: "All through my trips across the US as a sound engineer, I felt inspired to start up a gourmet hot dog shop and, three year's later, Surf Dogs was born.

"Now I want to participate in US holiday celebrations and hopefully this will be the first of many to come!”
