Cat's Cakes in the Cupboard will open at 9am on 8 May and promises to be stocked full of delicious home baking.

The keen home baker set up the business after her dad restored a cupboard for her to store the cakes.

Cat's Cakes in the Cupboard is located at the end of Fordhead Lane on the A811 road, opposite Graham's family dairy (postcode FK8 3JQ).

Posting on her Facebook page, Cat said: " Cat’s Cakes in the Cupboard going live on Friday 8th May!! Baking for a happy soul and trying to bring a little bit of sweetness to the A811.

"Everything is individually wrapped and priced. It’s an honesty box system- no contact!"

Cat has posted pictures of her home baking on social media - giving a glimpse to what may be on offer from the cupboard when it opens.

Bakes include salted caramel brownies. empire biscuits and Victoria sponge - all beautifully decorated.

Cat's Cakes in the Cupboard has received online support from another honesty shop - Cakes in the Call Box - which was set up in Cladich in 2017 by Holly Ford and Bron Campbell.

The friends were keen to save a local red telephone box that had fallen into disrepair.

Speaking to STV, Holly said: “”Both Bron and myself really love to bake and thought that transforming the derelict phone box into a small cake shop would be a perfect way to put our baking skills to the test and also bring the community of Cladich even closer together,”
