Popeyes, a fast food outlet that specialises in chicken, opened its first Scottish outlet this month, and plenty of people have been keen to try its dishes.

Founded in New Orleans in 1972, Popeyes has a New Orleans style menu featuring spicy chicken, chicken tenders and other regional items.
The chain's passion for its Louisiana heritage and flavourful authentic food has allowed Popeyes to become one of the world's largest chicken fast food restaurants with over 4,000 restaurants in the U.S. and around the world.
Popeyes saw its most successful opening to-date out of 4,000 restaurants globally when it opened the first UK drive-thru in Rotherham in May.
Popeyes is located in the Barrhead Retail Park just outside Glasgow.
It opened on Monday 18 September, and the opening times are from 11am, seven days a week.
The Barrhead Popeyes Drive-Thru restaurant will offer the brand’s full menu, which includes the much-loved Signature Louisiana Chicken, Signature Wraps, Chicken tenders, Hot Wings, and Popeyes Biscuits with gravy and more, seven days a week.
The Barrhead restaurant will also serve its brand new breakfast menu from 8am to 11am each day.

Following the successful launch of its first Scottish restaurant in Barrhead in 2023, the brand is bringing a second restaurant to the area, opening on Glasgow’s Sauchiehall Street later this year.
Forming the next stage of the Scottish expansion, Aberdeen will see its first Popeyes open on Union Street this spring – with a further drive-thru venue to open in the city in coming months.
